Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have vowed to further strengthen their defence ties.
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu Pakistan’s Chief of Air Staff visited Saudi Arabia this week. He was warmly received by the Royal Saudi Air Force highlighting the close and longstanding military relationship between the two countries.
During high level meetings both sides agreed to enhance cooperation through joint training programs professional exchanges and operational collaboration. They also discussed regional security challenges and future avenues of partnership reaffirming their commitment to mutual defence and strategic alignment.
This visit comes after the signing of the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement in September 2025 under which an attack on one country would be treated as an attack on both. The pact also envisions intelligence sharing joint exercises and deepened military coordination.
Officials described the cooperation as a continuation of historic fraternal ties rooted in shared faith and strategic interests. Analysts say the move strengthens regional security while signaling Pakistan’s growing role in the Middle East’s defence landscape.
With Pakistan and Saudi Arabia pledging closer military collaboration both nations aim to ensure a secure stable and mutually beneficial defence partnership for the future.
