Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced a major relief initiative for overseas Pakistanis investing in the federal capital Islamabad.
In a message shared on social media Naqvi said that any complaint regarding qabza or illegal occupation of property in Islamabad Capital Territory will now be decided within seven days. He made it clear that the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad is legally bound to resolve such cases within the stipulated time frame.
The interior minister emphasized that property rights of overseas Pakistanis will be fully protected assuring that no individual or group will be allowed to unlawfully seize land or assets that are legally owned.
Mohsin Naqvi also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to encouraging overseas Pakistanis to invest in Islamabad. He stated that their investments in ICT are welcome and highly valued and the government is determined to provide a secure transparent and investor-friendly environment.
According to Naqvi swift administrative action will be taken in all verified cases ensuring that complaints are handled without unnecessary delays political influence or bureaucratic hurdles.
The move is being seen as a confidence-building step aimed at restoring trust among overseas Pakistanis many of whom have long raised concerns about land grabbing and delayed justice in property disputes.
The announcement signals a tougher stance against qabza mafias and underscores the government’s intention to safeguard investments particularly those coming from Pakistanis living abroad.
Observers believe the policy if implemented effectively could significantly boost overseas investment and strengthen confidence in Pakistan’s real estate sector especially in the federal capital.
