Pakistani security forces have killed five terrorists during an intelligence‑based operation in the Pishin district of Balochistan the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday. The operation was carried out on credible intelligence about militants’presence triggering a firefight between troops and armed suspects.

According to the military’s media wing one of the extremists blew himself up in a suicide act to avoid capture while four other India sponsored “khwarij”were killed in the engagement. Security forces also recovered weapons ammunition and explosive materials from the site indicating the group’s active involvement in terror activities in the area.

Sanitization operations are now underway to ensure the elimination of any remaining hostile elements in the vicinity as troops continue their sweep. The ISPR reiterated that the country’s counter‑terrorism campaign under “Azm‑e‑Istehkam”will continue with full resolve to remove foreign‑sponsored and supported terrorism from Pakistan’s soil.

Balochistan and neighboring Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been hotbeds of militant activity in recent years with several terror outfits carrying out coordinated attacks. Last month’s security response in the province reportedly resulted in the neutralisation of dozens of militants in other operations as part of a broader effort to restore peace and stability.

The Pishin district which borders Afghanistan has seen multiple counter‑terror operations as authorities intensify efforts against groups planning attacks on security installations and civilian targets. Officials stress the importance of continued intelligence‑led missions to pre‑empt plots and dismantle militant infrastructure.

While details of the group’s planned activities are still being assessed the emphasis remains on safeguarding the local populace and preventing violent acts by extremist elements. The army and law enforcement agencies reaffirm their commitment to national security and eliminating terrorism’s roots throughout the region.
