Pakistan’s military says it has dealt a significant blow to the banned militant group Tehreek‑e‑Taliban Pakistan also referred to as Fitna al‑Khawarij by eliminating several of its mid‑level leaders during a series of strikes under Operation Ghazab lil‑Haq. Security officials confirmed that targeted operations including more than 50 coordinated air and ground strikes along the Afghanistan‑Pakistan border were aimed at dismantling the insurgent group’s command network and infrastructure used to launch attacks inside Pakistan.
The intensified campaign focused on militant hideouts and logistical bases across sectors near Chaman Zhob Qila Saifullah and Noshki with officials saying the operations were intelligence‑based and designed to disrupt cross‑border terrorism without harming civilians. Pakistani forces also struck ammunition depots and other facilities linked to the TTP and affiliated insurgent groups as part of a broader effort to secure Pakistan’s borders.
Security sources stressed that the elimination of mid‑level leaders though their identities have not yet been released marks a key milestone in efforts to weaken the group’s operational capability and undercut future attacks even as tensions with Afghanistan’s Taliban government remain high and Islamabad insists on continued pressure against militant networks.
