Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is currently on an official visit to China, where regional peace, economic cooperation, and growing global tensions are among the key topics being discussed between both countries.
During his meetings in Beijing, Shehbaz Sharif held talks with Chinese Premier Li Qiang and appreciated China’s support in promoting peace efforts linked to the ongoing US-Iran ceasefire negotiations.
The Pakistani prime minister said that ‘a lot of ground has already been covered’ and described the situation as moving in the right direction toward restoring peace and stability in the region.
According to officials, Pakistan has been actively involved in diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions between Washington and Tehran and encouraging both sides to continue dialogue instead of confrontation.
Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that regional stability is extremely important not only for the Middle East but also for countries across Asia, including Pakistan and China.
The meeting also highlighted the close partnership between Islamabad and Beijing, with both sides reaffirming support for peaceful negotiations and diplomatic solutions to international conflicts.
Analysts say Pakistan’s role in encouraging communication between the US and Iran has become increasingly important as global powers continue efforts to avoid further escalation in the region.
China also welcomed diplomatic progress and stressed the importance of maintaining the ceasefire to prevent a wider regional crisis.
As negotiations continue, Pakistan says it will keep supporting efforts aimed at helping the US and Iran move toward a permanent ceasefire and long-term regional peace.
